Classes

Destined values versatility in the dancer and is pleased to provide a broad spectrum of genres and is structured to support well-rounded training. Whether you are joining to develop strong technical skills together with the inherent benefits of dance, all while experiencing the joy of dance or want to join to move for wellbeing, you will find a welcoming place here both as a dancer and valued individual within our studio.

Classical Ballet

We offer both graded and vocational level ballet training using the Royal Academy of Dance examination Syllabus as well as open class for the more recreational dancer.

Spanish Dance

We offer Classical, regional and flamenco training through the International Spanish Dance Society. Dancers learn how to play castanets, footwork and the uniquely beautiful arm movements that are so typically Flamenco in origin.

On 16 November 2010 Flamenco was designated World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

A fact which strengthens and asserts the importance of this hallmark of Andalusian artistic expression. Such significant recognition also highlights its national and international importance; not in vain do they say that “there are more Flamenco schools in Japan than in Spain."

Jazz

Jazz Dance is taught through both the NZAMD and Jazz Ed Syllabus. Modern jazz is a fun, energetic and highly expressive dance style that builds confidence, technique and co-ordination. We offer both examination syllabus and open recreational classes.

Discovering Repertore

Discovering Repertoire is a class developed by the Royal Academy of Dance that introduces students to the beautiful classical dances (repertoire) from famous ballets. These classes focus on learning, understanding, and enjoying ballet repertoire in a relaxed and inspiring way. Repertoire from well-known classical ballet: these include Coppélia, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. The variations have been adapted for this program and are similar to those performed on stage. Suitable for dances from 12 years to adult.

Adult Ballet

Whether you are returning to ballet after some years, experiencing ballet for the first time or are a silver swan, we would love to have you visit a class to explore your options with us as a dancer.

Contemporary

We offer Contemporary Dance training following the, Ofqual regulated, prestigious - Rambert Grades syllabus alongside Progressive Contemporary technique. Classes subject to sufficient interest.
